updating to new version (1-12-1-12)

whenever I load SL it says there's a new version and asks me to download it.. if I press update and do so.. when it's done and trys to install.. it says a bunch of the files are already in use or something. and to abort / retry / ignore

I tried uninstalling SL and then to install it and it still did it.. then I wasn't even able to run.. so I ran through the installation choosing ignore. and now it loads.. and still asks me to update my version.. if I choose yes, then it says that it appears it already has that version do you want to continue? but still does the same thing if I continue.

what's going on?

also now I'm not able to view profiles.. when I try to view one it errors out.

it worked before, so I'm sure it's just whatever happened while I was trying to install the update.
