Crashing when trying to upload texture: Help!

Whenever I try to upload a texture, SL crashes. I've been having problems with this for a couple weeks, but a reboot (or two, or three) usually fixes it. No dice this time, I can reboot the computer over and over and SL still crashes on texture upload.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the SL client. I've turned off my Norton firewall and made sure the the Windows firewall is turned off and that SL is listed as one of the accepted programs just for good measure. I've done a scan with Norton and SpyBot for viruses or other problems.

The only real change that has been made to the computer lately was that we subscribed to Napster and started downloading mp3's to transfer to a Dell DJ30 (along with installing the DJ30 s/w). I did notice the difficulty with textures occurring soon after we did this, but I don't know why it might cause problems with SL texture uploads.

Does anybody have any suggestions why texture uploads are making SL crash for me?

Following are my computer specs: 3 GHZ P-4, 1.0 GB RAM, 250 GB HD, nvidia GEForce 6600 GT card.

Only thing about textures recently that I've seen was that they need to have a valid file extention. JPG, BMP or TGA otherwise it crashed, think someone posted this in announcements under the "L$2500 reward" thread..

You know, I don't even get as far as an actual upload... it's crashing when I click on the drop-down box in order to select a texture to upload! It's very, very frustrating.

Edit: After leaving the computer off for several hours, I was able to login to SL and upload textures. I have no idea why it finally worked.
