the other day i was playing Second Life when the game crashed i went to relog but now i keep geting stuck at "verifying protocol version" i have tried deleteing the contents of the cache folder,uninstaling Second Life as well as i have tried turning off my anti-virus/firewall programs iam pretty sure it is not my system as i have played secondlife on it for close to a year. can someone please help me?  |

Have you tried reinstalling Second Life? If you don't want to lose your settings, you can copy those first, move them elsewhere, and then move 'em back when you've got SL reinstalled.

Please disable any firewall/internet security programs. "Verifying Protocol" usually means that something (software on your computer, a router, your ISP) is totally blocking Second Life access.

I have tried turning norton security off as well as i have tried geting rid of it for a while but iam still geting the same problem? could it be spy ware or a other program that is keeping it from working?

Any third-party software that interferes with network activity can block Second Life. I've spoken with a few Norton Internet Security users that couldn't get the program to stop blocking Second Life until they fully uninstalled it.
