Has anyone had this problem?
when I try to drag something from one folder to another it seems to like jump around, or the folder I'm tryin to move will open up and ends up in another folder than the one i wanted it to be in
Is there something wrong with my mouse or is it sl? or what?
thanks for any info as this can be very aggrevating especially when trying to organize my inventory

I've done that before, but usually from being in a hurry lol..
As far as your question, no I haven't had my folders jumping around or anything like that... Maybe move to a sim that is not laggy or something like that..

Take your time when dragging around inventory. And when you drop an item in a folder, slowly set the item on the folder, let it drop down, and then let go of your mouse button.

It's annoying I know...but that's how the cookie crumbles.

Yes I have Sasha ... it helps me to close all the folders fairly often when I'm doing a lot of re-organizing (on the File menu in the inventory window). That way, if the folder I'm putting things into opens, there's less screen motion.

I'm also developing a superstition that closing all the folders before I empty trash saves me from the crash-on-emptying-trash bug.

I've had that problem............and Micheal's suggestion is about the only solution. Also it's easier if you go to "file........new window".

File – New Window seems the best solution. I think the folders want to expand as you drag over them. If you hover too long over the folders they will expand causing that jumping movement I think you’re referring to. I’ve thought I had lost items when in fact they had just ended up in the wrong folders.

To be more explicit: yes I always use two windows when sorting inventory. "Dock" them right next to each other, and always move from the left window to the right. That way, the right-hand window has very little time to sense me hovering and open up folders randomly.

If the destination folder, or another, does open up and I can't find where I wanted to drop it, I usually just move off to a portion of the screen where I can't drop inventory and release the dragged item there. It'll be back where it started.

Isn't it just delightful that we need such complex workarounds for this bug? Not the only peculiarity of SL, to be sure, but one which ought to be higher on the Fix It list.

That, and the rotten multiple aspect ratios used by the Profile pics, Snapshots, Texture files, and Save Image to Disk. I think that one is a plot to make you pay an average of $L30 per (successful) image upload, instead of the advertised $L10.
