The only time I am able to get on to the computer with a fast enough internet is in college. I want to get onto Second Life, but I don't want to bug my admin with such a trivial problem. Is there a way into Second Life through a server?
I keep getting stopped at that "Verifing Protocol Version..." screen. I checked the Wiki but I had no success.

Hi KitsuneKit, You may be in a situation where your gateway server is not passing UDP packets, which accounts for almost all communication in Second Life (other than the login process). That's not an uncommon scenario at colleges, because it is used as a method of blocking online gameplay. Online games, such as Second Life and MMORPGs, tend to use scads of bandwidth. Probably your best bet is to ask the admin if UDP packets are blocked. They'll probably give you a knowing smile and a nod, knowing exactly why you're asking.

I wish our admin was that nice. He took all the computers out of a classroom because someone went on to Gamefaqs.com to look up a walkthrough. He is not a nice guy. I guess I will just have to wait until I can get faster internet at my house for me to go onto Second Life.
