What. I am a fairly new user, and an even newer paid account-having user. I have never owned land before, ever, at any point in time. Not even for five and one half seconds. Whenever I try to purchase a plot of First Land, I get a message saying that I have, in fact, owned land before, and am therefore unable to purchase First Land. What is wrong and what, beyond cancelling this account and wasting more money on a new one, can be done to fix this? Please to be offering some manner of help.

The other possibility I can think of, Eris, is that you donated land to a group before--which also makes you ineligible because it counts as owning group land; part of it, anyway. Is this what might have happened? If not, please contact support.

I know some people that were hit by this -- there really should be a warning, since I don't think that many people equate donating land with land ownership.

this happened to me. Seems somehow i was given land when i joined. It was a very populated suburban hell kind of place. Anyway i dont remember accepting this land but during the first days of SL.. i remember being very chaotic. A linden told me that i was given land and could not give it away or sell it for a certain period of time. I bit the bullet and paid for more land and of course took a higher land fee.
