I refered somone to secondlife two days ago and I still havnt gotten my money. I never got my allowence as a newbie either butt i deffinitly want the money for signing someone up

Referral Program Changes

Effective today, we will be eliminating the $L1000 bonus for Basic Referrals.

The reasoning behind this move is twofold:

1. With the move to a Free model and the elimination of the credit card requirement, it has become increasingly difficult to justify economically

2. There has been a profusion of Referral-farming in recent weeks and we wish to eliminate the negative effect this may have on the L$ market value

Going forward, we will evaluate the effect of this change on the Linden dollar and implement a form of Referral Bonuses that makes more sense with Free Basic accounts. We have always valued all members of Second Life and will continue to do so; we just need to construct a way of showing that appreciation that doesn't present such a risk of abuse.

This was posted on 1/26 wasnt sure if you saw it so that is possibly why you didnt get the bonus:/

If I dont get this Im going to be really upset, considering I never got the supposed allowance new people are supposed to get. When I signed her up it said I would get it and I want it. If it came into effect today I should still get it because it was two days ago.

Heh, welcome to the hit and miss club. I have signed up over 50 people in SL and got credit for 33. Not that I'm complaining mind you, just that SL has a consistant trackrecord of inconsistancy.

course LL expects us to be mind readers and of course we should know automaticly something they changed, if only they changed it in some obscure forum post. not their public front end

just not too long ago there was a gang up about someone and their forgotten slot machine in world hitting jackpot, Well LL this is your jackpot you forgot about, and the public thought was pay up

What is on the website and what is reality has often been a serious disconnect. For instance, before the last update there was a preview available to DL and try out. The web site said it was a separate grid and what you did had no effect on you or your money on the main grid. In fact it was the farthest from the truth and you could lose money and property since you were in the main grid. I hotlined it and got the obligitory "we will look into it" yet nothing was changed.
