Hello, new to SL here. But for some reason im having a problem with textures. Especially when attempting to change my appearance. The textures seem to change randomly and thus making it impossible to do anything really as every time textures change, computer sputters a little. ANyone know of a workaround for this issue?

My computer is a dell
396 mb of ram
1.8ghz
intel extreme graphics with 64mb of ram
windows xp sp2

I know its not the best computer (as it is my girlfriends, mine runs sl great) but the game isnt even playable at this point. All graphics settings are set to lowest (i think).

Any advice?

the intel video card is probally the cause ... it barely functions as a 3d card and is not offically supported by secondlife.

I would agree that the intel card is the number one problem here. In most cases they won't run SL at all, so you're actually pretty lucky to have gotten even as far as you did with it. They're pretty hit & miss. One of the computers in my house has one, and it will run SL, but about the only thing it will do 100% reliably is crash. It might take a minute or an hour, but it happens every time.

Yeah that makes sense. integrated graphics cards can only really take you so far. My compy has a 7800 gtx - so no probs from there, lol.

I don't know, I got a 256Mb nVidia card and cpu running at 1.8Ghz, 512MB ram and when changing around clothes sometimes it takes...FOREVER, like to the point where I just say screw it and take it off because I got sick of waiting for it to rez. I hope that interest list update along with many others comes soon, just get tired of hearing the same complaints.
