Verifying Protocol issue

I just recently got my new laptop and installed second life.

I assume the download page offers up to date versions. Considering that is what I used.

However when I attempt to log in i get a slow loading "verifying protocol Version" Message.


I have dug through help and Searched the forums to find nothing of real help.

The main page says the grid is up, and several of my friends are online.


I haven't got much more I can do unless this is just a common glitch that im not seeing?

that message is like the old handshake on dialup modems, its not out of date, its just not getting a response back from the server ... look @ networking ports ect

Ahh well I am on campus, might explain it.

They just set up a new wireless network.
