Ok, I repost. Here are my following problems (since july 12th, around when I got home from vacation and dled that update) When Logging in: 1. I get a msg saying my clothing is still downloading. 2. After that msg is closed out everything on SL lags to the point were if I click or type anything it takes 10 seconds or more to appear on the screen. 3. I cant walk.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 8600 with a pentium M processor. It runs Windows XP Professional with Service pack 2. 512 Mb of ram. Its Graphics card is a NIVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5200 resolution im using is currently1024 by 768 pixels.
I have tried the following: Clearing cache, reinstalling, restarting, resetting the net connection (I run a wireless net). Trust me, my connection is fine even though it is wireless I never had a problem with it on Sl.
Can anyone or Linden Assist me? As for the Lindens. Some friends tell me that this problem may be fixed in the future (assuming that it was that update thats screwing it up for me). If this is true and is being worked on I would like to know, As of today its been two weeks and it hasnt been fixed. Ive been waiting but im running out of patience. But if it is being worked on in Linden Labs and will be fixed soon, my patience will be renewed ^^. I just wanna know if I should scrap this or not. Thanks ^^

firewall

I had this same exact problem a while back after one of the updates. I thought it was because of the update but it turns out my FIREWALL was doing all of this crazy stuff. So, i turned the firewall off and was back in business! Turn off your firewall and see if that works (almost 100% positive it will) and then edit your firewall to ignore SL.
good luck!
I know it seems like a firewall wouldn't have any significant effect on SL but it really does. Take my word for it.

Inspiron Problems

I'm having very similar problems with a brand new Dell Inspiron E1705 with Windows XP. The up and down arrow keys don't work so I can't walk. Every Search returns 0 hits, even for "Popular Places". My Inventory is empty. I can't see my avatar. The scenes only build partially. There doesn't seem to be any network traffic at all. I've reinstalled a number of times after following the Knowledge Base instructions for a complete deinstall. I've check with my ISP that he isn't blocking any ports. I've turned off my Windows firewall. This was supposed to be THE SL road machine! Thanks for any insight. Cheers, Moose From: Ryku Ikura Ok, I repost.
