Shared video memory is not a good thing to have. I've never heard of an nVidia 6100???

Apart from that and the fact that to some extent you're paying for the Gateway brand, looks good.

It should. Dont know much about Windows Media Center tho. It's not exactly like Windows XP. It was supposedly meant for people who turn PC's into... well, Media Centers (watch movies, play music and so on). I'll check with some folks & see.

But so far it looks alright.

OH! If you look at it "in store" just make sure it doesnt say the video card uses 'shared memory', meaning part of that 2 GIG RAM is used by the video card.

I just checked- the 6100 is PCI-E and for cheaper, store bought systems. It's almost something you'd find in a notebook. And yea, shared video memory is a pain-in-the-ass.

As long as the video card isnt "built-in", you could always add a new one later, and disable the original in the BIOS.

**edit**
OMG!! That Intel one is worse! Less RAM, but also the video in it is... well... ICK!! Stick with yer first choice.

My mom's computer has a 6100 in it. Basicly a 6100 from what I can tell is a 6200 that uses shared memory. Pretty much all the decent cookie cutter PCs uses laptop graphics to save on space now a days. Personally I'm still fond of building my own.

6100 IGP on a Sempron 2800+ actually doesn't do bad at all, even in crowded areas.

Sure, you can't use FSAA, but it's more than usable.

SL depends a lot more on CPU than it does 'newer' graphics card features anyhow. 6100 IGP outperforms an FX5200 by quite a bit, maybe even a bit better than an FX5500.
