For some reason I can't log in at all. I've tried rebooting, disconnecting the net, updating (which I didn' t bother with before), and even tried getting on through Windlight. Heck, I've even tried to quite in the middle of the log in then try again, still didn't work. Every time I keep getting the same message. 'Unable to connect to Second Life. Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong. Please check www.secondlife.com/status to see if there is a known problem with the service.' Hahah, doesn't say anything. Checked the site, nothing. Anyone have a solution or going through this same problem today? Please help |

Yep, got precisely the same. It worked fine when I logged out this morning, and now I try and I just get the generic "despite our best efforts" message, with no possible idea of what could be causing it.

Pretty much the same here - with the odd successful login (which only lasts a few minutes, then SL crashes after walking into nowhere land, with no way of stopping, or TPing anywhere, etc.) Has been over an hour and a half with no sign of change. Tried everything to fix, as usual - no luck. Was working fine earlier today. Will try again in an hour or so. Annoyed - I had a date!  |

go to the login screen and bring up preferences. Clear your "Cache" under the network tab. Then close the viewer and reopen it. Should fix your dramas

try going into preferences on the login page and change ur login position to another region or to home. sometimes works for me
