Just what the title says. I just bought this video card and I am getting 2 - 5 FPS with it. Yet I have everything turned on, but distance and what not is still at default. I am running a P4 2 GHz with 512 DDR RAM. Any ideas on what configuration I need to setup with this card to get it to work nice? Also the option for AGP Acceleration is greyed out? wtf? Thanks for any info.

Yup - it's the update not your new card. My Nvidia 6800 Ultra 256 is running at about 50% of it's previous rate even with goodies off and reduced draw and detail... SL is currently fcuked!

ATI - agp acceleration isnt supported in SL <.<

Did you install Omega drivers, and yes, we lost fps on the update.

Extreme Fps Boost For The Obsessed
11-03-2005 14:32
This could be useful to newbies

1. Go Graphics in Preferences
1.1 Uncheck everything in Performance options
1.2 Select Normal for Avatar Rendering
1.3 Select None for Terrain Detail
1.4 Display Resolution (the smaller the window the higher the FPS)

2. Go to Adv. Graphics
2.1 AGP Graphics Acceleration is best left unchecked (not sure about this one: try) if available
2.2 Texture cache size Small
2.3 Video Card Memory (select 16 MB for a low end machine)
2.4 Shift all details for object, tree and avatar to middle
2.5 Make sure Avatar Vertex Program is UNCHECKED (this boosted my FPS big time)
2.6 Draw distance 64
2.7 Drop remaining params and experiment with look of world

Disable audio/video streaming on low end machines

Now log in
3. Go to Debug Menu
3.1 Debug>Rendering>Types
3.2 Hide clouds
3.3 Hide Water (if you can)
3.4 Hide trees (he he he)
well... you get the idea... keep hiding stuff and experiment

Disable fog

Let's have fun... let's see how we can tweak the configs to get the highest fps possible , even if we end up staring at a black square LOL

Well I got it to run 15 - 20 FPS, and 10 around a 15+ person crowd. I have Anti-aliasing on, and a few other things. But, I have Lighting and Shiny off, as well as everything else. I have draw distance at 128 and everything else in that area is default. So its an approvement for me at least. :) thanks for the posts.
