I'm considering buying a Dell XPS 710 system. One of the options is a "physics accelerator card" that is suppose to further enhance the graphics quality.
Does anyone know if this will work with SL and if its worth the effort,,, or will it only cause problems?

That only works if the application is specifically coded to make use of it - the technology is probably too new for many applications to be able to utilize it. Yet. But since physics is calculated on the server in SL anyway, and not your computer at home, I don't think it will ever have much effect on Second Life - unless they get these physics accelerator goodies for their servers, which also isn't too likely.

http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/01/09/cory-lindens-town-hall-transcript/From: Town Hall Meeting Bato Brendel: Does Linden Labs have any plans to implement PhysX PPU support for a massive boost in physics calculations and object handling?
Cory Linden: No This doesn't, I'm fairly sure, mean that SL will choke on a machine with one of these cards but it does mean that the card won't be used by SL. edit: I think most SL physics processing is done on the server side anyway - even if they did support these cards, they might not show a huge benefit..
