I can rarely get music streams in sims and I have no idea why.
In the places I can get the stream outside the game via Winamp/iTunes [if available], it seems to work most of the time. In game occasionally but not often.
I recently upgraded the cpu to a AMD +4200 [from a +3000] and have 3GB ram Nvidia 7800 GTS (250mb).
The processor upgrade seems to have stabilized my system as I was crashing a lot and was having many other problems such as being ruthed all the time. It has also let me listen to music streams outside the game.
I am wondering if this might be due to SL not being threaded and that my CPU can't keep up, while with the outside game player the load can be spread ?
Any suggestions are welcome, all Linden support say is check your firewall. If that were the problem, I'd never get the music stream.

I used to have this, so i got used to grabbing the parcel url and use it in winamp instead, now its fixed and i dont really know why-.-
how to get url on a land > open debug (ctrl-shift-f4) start music stream, boom youll see the http in there.
why they ever removed it so you could just see it in parcel info is beyond me, another useless removal of a future that was handy

Ok I'm being dense, I can't figure out how to do that.
ct-shift-f4 doesn't do anything.
I tried bringing up the debug settings but can't find that parameter

ctrl-alt-d client / console / debug window
then click on the start audio button thingie on bottom of screen, it should pop up a url on the debug there, unless it spams the entire screen with random stuff happening in the sim/near you.

You have to press and hold Ctrl+Shift+4 at the same time to bring up the client reporting that will show you what the client is receiving from the SL servers.
If you are having issues with a music stream in SL, it could be one of two things (or both), you have insufficient bandwidth to run SL's client and the music stream (go to Network tab in preferences and turn that down to around 250 and see if you hear music then), or the stream is incompatible with the SL clients music stream pluggin.
