turn an avatar into an object?

Hey folks
I was wondering if there was a way to make an avatar an object. I wanted to take some pictures with a couple of my avatars standing together, and if there was a way to make avatars static objects and place them, could make some fun pictures. Is there another way to 'clone' an avatar temporarily to take pictures?

Cheers

Just take a pic of yourself with a white background, save it to hard drive, (hopefully you have Gimp or Photoshop) If not, you can download Gimp for free.. I'll use gimp to explain how to make the cutout.. Open Gimp, then open the photo, go into layers, and add an alpha channel, the go back into layers, and click color to alpha.. Then go back in layers again, and click semi flatten object.. Now you should have a cutout of your avatar.. If there is any shadows or anything there, just use the eraser to clean up any thing you don't want... Ok now, save the image as a targ file, go back in game, upload photo from wherever you saved it.. (I suggest desktop) Then throw out a box, and apply the new texture you just downloaded, and you will have a cutout of yourself.. :)

I hope this is what you meant!! Have fun!

Not possible I'm afraid. You need to use an alt account for each extra avatar you require.

Now we have sculptie prims, it's possible to build an object that looks like an avatar from multiple prims, but that isn't a trivial thing to attempt. You'd have to recreate all your skin & clothing textures outside of SL for this unique 'avatar-like' object too. Sounds more trouble than it's worth unless a very well paid contract depends on it.

Well I figured out an intersting way to do it...a still camera, lots of 'sit' balls, and Adobe Photoshop. Here is the most of my Avatar cast...Apart from some tricky editing of the 'couples' (fine tune layer erasing), the rest of it was fairly easy. I made the mistake of not setting the sun to a particular time so there were some slight shading blemishes.

If there were a lot more camera controls, I could put a bunch more in there.
