Hi,

New to SL and i love it :).

I'm trying to get some music playing on my land. So i got a streaming radio station and put it in the music url box.

Now other ppl visiting my land can hear the music but i can't :/. I've gone through the settings to see if there was some option but to no avail. Also i made sure that the music control is playing and the volume is full.

I can however hear music when i visit someone else's land.

Anybody have a solution?:/

Streams can be odd sometimes. The actual stream source itself. Sometimes you can set the url and it wont play right away, try stepping off of the plot and back onto it and see if it starts up.

Some streams have a maximum number of listeners too. Each person on your land counts as a seperate person, so if the max is 15 and 15 other people (in SL and the net) are already listening and your the 16th person, you wont hear it.

Try another stream and see if it will work for you. Make sure your source stream is good. If you get another to work then retry the one your actually wanting to hear another time.

Try putting the stream address in your web browser or media player like Winamp. If you can hear it there then there is a problem with SL, check your preferences to make sure audio is turned on for you. If it doesn't play in your browser or media player then there may be something wrong on the computer end, check you volume controls and make sure "wave" is turned up in addition to the main volume.

And most of all, if a URL pulled up a webpage in IE or Mozilla, (instead of launching your music program), it's not the right link. You need the "Listen" link on that page. Also check to make sure the webpage doesn't say "server is currently down" or something similar.

They said others on their land could hear it so I doubt it is a bad link. My money is on Music not being enabled in preferences. If it is then something may be wonky with the media player and a fresh instal of Winamp may cure it.
