I have tried for 2 days now. First i got error messages saying an error has occured and i should uninstall and reinstall, so i did. then it popped up again, about 13 or so more times. and i did what it said everytime. then a new error popped up... "despite our best efforts, something unexplainable has happened" or something like that. WTF!?!?!?!?! i thought there may be something wrong with the whole thing, so i checked secondlife.com/status, and it sayed its working. so i ask me friend to log in, and he got in, so wtf? is there an answer to this problem?

I can't log in either. Everytime i try to log in once the loading screen hit Conneting to Region The game freezes up. I wait a while still frozen. I tried logging in with my sister account I get the same results. I was playing fine last night no proublms logging in and out. So yeah wtf?

Sounds like a Firewall/Router issues. Make sure you have SL allowed to have incoming and outgoing allowed for both TCP/IP and UDP/IP in your firewall and/or router.

I'm positive mine allows it, nothing on my PC has changed since yesterday (and I could log in then), now for no reason I can't log in at all. I even turned off my ZoneAlarm thing and still nothing...

Im having the same problem here guys. I signed up last night, was in for 3 minutes, then it crashed and I've never been able to get back in since except for one time earlier today, which was just for 10 seconds! I got the right tech spec and correct ports opened on the firewall, so what gives?

I've done everything SL has suggested and I STILL cant get in.
I've tried frequently and I'm having the same problem every time

same here, I reset my computer today and started from scratch and I was able to get in and move around for about 15 seconds. then it crashed. now it crashes every time I try and log in again now after the precaching stage. Ive emailed the technical support and they don't bother to personalise their replies. Im glad I didnt pay any money over now. what's the point of paying money for something that does not work?

Guys I got in, yo. I figured it out, I had to buy a new router, if your router is really old and slow it won't let you in.

add this to a SL shortcuit (do make a new one you will need it at update day)

-login firstname lastname password

( -login Thili Playfair yeahitsmypasswordsure )

Dont click anything it will usually let you in even if SL says you cannot log in untill region logs you out blablabla.

"nothing has changed on my pc and it wont work now"
not true, firewall/virusprogs can autoblock suspect things and SL tend to be flagged suspicous cause of its attempts to connect to your pc and various ip's change alot, looks like crazy if you see connections in/out from SL , switching all over the place.

Id always remove a .exe from firewall to let it ask should i allow this?, silent block is a fast way to get SL not starting up after a few days.
