Hmmm, I don't know what else to call this, and I don't know if this is the right place to post...
Over the course of the past week or so I've had a really strange experience, probably 4 times: I'm walking along, minding my own business, and my avi just gets a wild hair and starts walking, walking, walking, walking, walking... walking through walls, walking through stones, walking through land, walking underground, walking through water, endless, endless walking...
I can't do anything to make it stop, so I've learned to sit back and relax and eventually I end up back where I started, ready to continue my intended journey.
What the heck is this and how do I make it stop?
Signed,
Wearing out my shoes

That happens when you lose connection to the sim your in. Could be the sim is about to crash, got hung up on something else for a while, or something between your computer and the sim server that caused a temporary connection loss. Since the last instruction your client got was walking forward, that's what it keeps doing.

I have also seen this, especially when you are in mouselook mode and walking or flying somewhere. You just suddenly keep heading for the Horizon, and you DON'T bump into stuff that you should be colliding with, like buildings. It is an illusion. Your avvie is really still where it was, but your viewpoint is wacky.
I can offer one 'fix'. Toggle mouselook. I don't know why it works, but if my avvie seems to be careening out of control and heading for the horizon, toggling mouselook usually stops that, and drops me back to the position where it started going strange on me.

I've had this too, though not in mouselook. Teleporting somewhere fixes it.

Very much a sim lag problem.
Which is awkward when your neighbors are copulating and you pass straight throught their bedroom....

We're experiencing this right now.
Floating randomly higher and higher, suddenly running...etc etc.
It gets worse and worse until they eventually have to restart the sim.
