Please state your stats for your computer. Motherboard, graphic card, and ram.

Once those on here know this it will be easier to help.

start / run / dxdiag

Try that youll see what your pc is buildt up from.

I agree more on their new System Recommendations now;

Computer Memory: 512MB or better (except this 1024 MIN)
Video/Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce FX 5600, GeForce 6600, or better
  1. ATI Radeon 9600, X600, or better

Minumum Requirements are:

* Internet Connection*: Cable or DSL
* Operating System: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
o OR Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4)
* Computer Processor: 800MHz Pentium III or Athlon, or better
* Computer Memory: 256MB or better
* Video/Graphics Card**: nVidia GeForce 2, GeForce 4mx, or better
o OR ATI Radeon 8500, 9250, or better

Heres the link to the support page for the requirements. http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php

Your RAM being 224 MB will have an effect since the RAM is basic what runs applications.

As for the graphic card, if you have the above minimum you should be ok, as I have seen people on the forum say their machines run fine on even the GeForce 2 card.

its amazing what some silver 7, superglue, cast iron and a belt sander can do to a geforce 2's attitude :)
