: topic :
Hi all, just something thats been bugging me really, I don't know exactly how CPU usage is devided up but im pretty sure that other games I run doesnt use 100% of my CPU at one time...
here are my pc specs
Windows XP Home AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 2.19 GHz 2GB ram ATI Radeon X800L Sapphire 1280x1024 screen rez
I run SL in windowed mode (full screen still uses 100% CPU)
Any help as to why SL uses 100% on my machine would be good, or if someone can confirm that SL always runs 100% cpu on their machine
thanks in advance

Wow. Do you have anything else running? Have you tried running HIJACK THIS? http://www.hijackthis.de/ Make sure you don't have any suspicious programs running in your background. Mine is running at 28% and I have 12 other things running in the background (don't ask me why, just know that I do)

Oh just adding something, it doesn't use 100% cpu when i got it minimized
**
nothing else running, just the normal background processes for windows xp, i have my IM softwear running on my laptop which is linked via a home lan but thats all, no other games, in the process viewer when i ctrl+alt+del it shows SL running at 90-100% cpu
**
hijackthis showed nothing that was hurting my system

Alot of SL is still CPU bound and operates much like a 3D rendering studio. Thats why your CPU is running at 100%.

SL always uses 100% (as long as it's rendering screen is visible). Most of the other games do that, too.
