hi, I'm a newbie and I would like to have a theater. Does anyone know where I can get bandwidth? I was told I would need a server, but I'm not sure really how. I'm not too familiar with the steps necessary. I would like to stream the videos from my pc, but I'm not sure if thats how it's done. I searched through the forum, but my specific questions haven't been answered. If anyone has working knowledge I would be so happy. Thanks in advance. ^_^

In order to stream video, you'll need a commercially hosted server, unless you're one of the lucky people who uses fiber-optics for connectivity. If you were to host the videos yourself, each person who watched would draw 256-512kbps. The average cable modem has 768kbps maximum upload speed. Therefore, if you were hosting these from home, and more than one or two people connected, the quality would fall through the floor, if they could connect at all.

I'm not sure where you could host something like that from, find a hosting provider that supports streaming video. Be prepared to pay for it, since there isn't a free ISP in existance that'll let you draw that much bandwidth. Good luck.
