Streaming music at rentals

Does anyone happen to know how i may allow my tenants to play their own music (i.e. radio, TV,...) at the rentals? I have been told that I need a special script for this, but have not been able to find it anywhere and unfortunately i'm no scripter... For now it seems that the tenants may only use radios and TV's owned by me and the TV's and radios owned by them do not work on my land... Any help would be highly appreciated!

Apologies if I'm stating the obvious at the start, but each parcel gets only one URL so if you have units stacked on top of each other there can only be one stream.

Assuming your rental space is broken up into parcels, this can be done with a pair of devices, one which is owned by you (or deeded to the land group) which can change the parcel URL and another "remote control" which sends instructions to the tuner but can be owned, configured, and controlled by the renter.

I "borrowed" this concept from Rickard Roentgen who had a very well made product that allowed voting and other nifty features. It was sold under the tradename "R-Type Mini-Music" but I can find no trace of it left in the game.

I cobbled up a less feature rich, but functional version of this sort of tuner. It is clean code, but it is not "productized" for general use. I offer it for free to the first person that wishes to commercialize it and can point to one product they made that is sufficiently customer friendly. Please write here or via PM as I am rarely in game.

Then again, a competent scripter could likely make this with the information provided here.

Essentially the item that's changing the system has to be owned by the parcel owner (you personally or deeded to the group).

With TVs that's not usually too bad - there's an excellent free one out there after all!

I make a user friendly radio system that I developed for my group land which doesn't work quite the way that Introvert described, but does allow my tenants to configure it themselves quite successfully - it's for sale on SLB etc. and is only 1 prim (search for DAB radio or IM me in world, or go to the minimall in my picks).

If that doesn't do what you want I can certainly script an alternate system for you, easily enough, and make it as feature-full as you want.

Asumming this is a private island..

You can deed the parcels to a group of their choice, in which case, all the officers of that group will be able to change the URL anyway.. And you can allow them to use their own devices...

As this is an assumed private island, you can deed the land to their group, because you are able to reclaim it at any time.. However, on the mainland, the group could make off with the land.

If you own it on the mainland, there are several radio scripts you can purchase..
