I visited a store on Sl and it was a big one. It had lots of picture frames selling clothes. It took a while for it to load and then all Of a sudden everything was animation. Its like images were going through all the textures . The floor, the building, me, my face , clothes, rugs and everything were each going through all the textures like an animation.

Later I tried to change my appearances and I have black images or wooden textures in my window. Instead of loading the wide face and the narrow face, it loads a blank or black or a texture. After a few clicks there, my imac G5 displays instructions on how to reboot in many languages. So Its a crash. It happens again and I'm nervous about doing a total crash and doing the full reboot. I don't see that much so it must be a serious bug.

Is the a way to reset everything in my SL FILE back to default? Is there a way to flush the prefs? I did that on my imac but didn't work. the prefs are stored on SL server. How can this be fixed? Please help.

First, why don't you upgrade to 10.3.9?

Second, have you tried clearing your cache in SL (On the Preferences->Network page, click the button then relog)?

Yes, have the same thing. I'm running an imac G5. 10.4.4. Have lost count of total crashes now. Since update had less crashes but continued flashing and texture changes all over SL now rather than before when it was just on property I owned.
There is a thread in the mac discussion about the same problem, Flashing textures making it sometimes impossible to view SL at all. Seems to happen to a few people on macs, but others on the same system have no probs at all.. possibly graphics card but more than likely is a bug.

Hopefully, a wonderful Linden will sort it out.

Stil looking forward to viewing my property for more than an hour without the flashing doing my eyes in.
