I made a house, and found that I can't place objects in many locations.

for example, I can place a chair on most of one wall, but not in a specific spot on that wall. I can place the chairs along the edge of the ground where it's near to a wall, but not in the center of the room.

The error is "failed to place object at specified location"

It seems almost random, but after placing chairs all over the house, I found it was only in specific areas that I couldn't do it.

So I tried moving the house - up high, down low. Rotating it. Changing the texture, the issue still remains.

I searched the forum and the wiki but didn't find anything on the subject. I can reproduce the issue if someone wants to see it in action.

I also found that while I can't place a sofa in the center of the room, I can create a new prim in that location, then drop the sofa on the prim....

Sometimes I get that twice in a row, but the second rez noise comes unaccompanied by any error message, which makes me think I made the prim, and then "Where did it go?" Since I'm in a skybox, sometimes I worry that it was somehow made 50m lower and I have to jump through hoops to find it. But no, it's just that there was an error in displaying the error messages. :)

I think it often has trouble placing objects on the inside of cut or hollow prims. It's not that big a deal though - it's easy enough to place the thing somewhere else, and the move it to where you want it.

Yes, it is a hollow prim (beats making a room out of 6 flat boards), but I will disagree with you that it's not a big deal.

It is a big deal because I'm renting out low L$ housing, mostly for newbies. They think the game is broken, or my houses are broken, and there isn't anything I can do about it.

actually I think the last couple of days there have been some real problems with the game itself.

I am on an island which thatnks to alot of hard work is a no lag extremely healthy statswise environment but as of night before last we are seeing a whole lot of failed to place objects and texture rezzing issues. Picking up rezzed objects is also taking up to 2 minutes at times.

Last time I saw behavior like this so consistently it was an impending assett server meltdown.

I also have seen this and i have hardly dented the primes ect. on it.
After a few trys though it will. It seems to be time related to the asset server keeping up w. the speed its beeing rezed. I also notice other delays in textuers and some estate land edit.
However when it i try it a few times it works.

I have a new sim isl and have olny used about 400 primes.
