I am now crashing approximately every 10 minutes in Second Life. I respectfully submit that the world is NOT STABLE. Please, please, please, work on making it stable before you change anything ELSE!!!

Enjah,
It might help if you could publish all your technical details - CPU, memory, video card, etc., then someone might be able to offer a suggestion that could help.
But I agree. While I'm not crashing every ten minutes (and I can confirm that's not an exaggeration) I find that things are taking ages to rez, and I do have a tendency occasionally to 'freeze'. But if I were in your position I would be seriously frustrated, and I hope that someone will be able to help.

ATI card-related fix
01-08-2005 10:54
Enjah, I know what it's like to crash every ten minutes or so. That used to happen on all my comps. All with ATI cards. A previous thread in this forum listed two things to fix, and that cleared up the problem. If the ATI card settings are causing your crashes, this might help:
Rightclick your screen to get properties, and go into video properties to make the following changes:
1. turn off VPU 2. turn off Fast Write

If your client is crashing regularly, it's probably your client, not the world. Do you know your system specs? Have you uninstalled and reinstalled SL? What version of your motherboard chipset, sound and graphics drivers are you running?

Catherine,
As an additional piece of information, this has only been happening since the latest version of the sl software.
