I get this weird bug where everything is pitch black, except items that are full bright, or the shine on shiny objects. I think it may be related to light, but I can't figure out how to fix this problem. Occassionally everything will be normal, after I restart my computer and do not play any other games, but now that doesn't even work.

I have tried changing ALL the graphical options, especially those pertaining to light. But nothing seems to be working.

This problem started when I had an ATI Radeon x300 video card, but I upgraded to an ATI Radeon x1650 and the problem persists. I have their drivers up to date. I have upgraded to 2 gigs of ram as well, and my computer has fairly powerful processor.

This bug is REALLY starting to annoy me.

I got this bug (only at night). The ONLY fix I could come up with was to uninstall every version of SL and remove ALL copies of the SL settings files (which remain aftier uninstall (SIGH, LL you listening?)

I think it has to do with a borked settings file but I never figured out what was up. After a totally clean reinstall it's gone away permanently (so far)

On vista the SL settings folder is located here:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife

On XP it'll be slightly different, its under C:/Windows/users or something...
