Keyboard/Mouse issue causes avatar to move forward randomly

There's some kind of weird keyboard/mouse problem that recently started with my SL. My avatar will randomly take a step or two forward. I have to be really fast to use the drop down menus because it affects those as well (closes them)

I've tried all kinds of stop animation tricks, but because it happens in the menus, I'd have to think it's something in the client.

I recently upgraded from an E6600 to an E6750... although I'm not 100% sure if the problem started after that or not.

I tried uninstalling/re-installing SL... Still does it.

Tried changing the affinity of SL while it was running via task manager to 1 CPU, and it still did it.

Any other ideas? or are my SL days over?

And you don't notice any extra mouse-clicks in any other program? Honestly, it sounds like your mouse needs to be cleaned.

If that's not it, it would appear that your avatar has a disability. That's a bummer, but on the other hand it's very rare. You could build a great RP character around being disabled! Start a social welfare system for SL! :)

*ahem* Ok, back to being serious. I've never seen this before, although of course one's avatar does move a few steps every time it is bumped. I assume you are not under any form of attack, tho.

If you are using a wireless mouse/keyboard check the battery level. I've had strange things happen with my mouse too.......it's usually the batteries are getting low on charge. You might also try resetting the communication channels by first pressing the button on the reciever and then the buttons on the mouse and keyboard.

You can check your mouse and keyboard battery level and signal strength by going to your control panel and clicking "printers and other hardware".

It's similar to being bumped. It happens no matter where I go. I'm using a wired laser mouse--a Logitech G5. It's not the mouse.
