Since the 1.7 update, in a lot of the objects I made, the textures on hollow cut cubes (with cut begin end 0.xx/0.75) have 'changed sides'. I mean, one of the 'cut sides' now contains the 'inner side' texture, the 'inner side' now has the bottom texture etc... All textures except on the top and outers sides have switched.
This is not a rendering or rezzing issue. The textures are actually switched on the prim.
Is this caused by database corruption? And am I the only one with this issue, or have other people also experienced this problem?
The nature of this issue decides if fixing it is the right way to go. If this is a global issue, than i would suggest a general fix on all the affected prims, before people start 'fixing' them individually.
If this is a personal issue, I think it's time for me to start IMing a Linden though.

Damani, where can I see instances of this inworld? I thought something was up the other day... glad it's not just me. I'd go ahead and file a bug report for sure if you notice other schtuff inworld by other people that uses similar geometry and is also messed up, 'cuz AFAIK the current problems aren't known for swapping textures like that!

From: Damanios Thetan Is this caused by database corruption? And am I the only one with this issue, or have people also experienced this problem? You aint alone brother. THis same problem has hit me and forced me to retexture tons of objects, Being a primservationist, and believing that 2 or even 3 walls can be made from a properly textured, holllowed, and cut cube now means tons of work to fix my damaged builds. =P

My problem is that, when this has happened to ALL specified prims. It's (i think) quite easy for LL to fix this issue by running the appropriate fix/sql procedure to turn them all correct again. A lot easier than manually fixing all the affected items in SL at least.
This means that all manually fixed objects are now corrupted though. So when LL will fix this issue, you're further away from home than if you fixed nothing...
All in all whatever needs to be done, it needs to be done quite quickly before half of the items is 'fixed' and the other half is 'unfixed'. In that situation any automated procedure has become useless.

Fix coming
10-25-2005 21:45
This is a bug which we need to fix, so unfortunately any content modified to compensate will become broken. We will get the fix out as soon as possible. See Second Life Forums > Linden Forums > Hotline to Linden > Hollow cut cubes texture switch ( /invalid_link.html) for more info. Apologies to everyone affected, we will have a fix soon.
