Why has this changed!!! Now Im either jumping, or chatting things twice!!! I used to be able to open chat, and when it was open, if I typed it was spoken, now, since the updates, I have to hit escape everytime after I use my camera, why does this happen, it used to not do this. Is there a way to turn off this setting? I hate it!

Yes, this is quite an annoyance. I do not know why they try to "fix" features that work just fine when there are plenty of features (o I dunno, REZZING) that need attention post haste.
It seems the GUI now changes its focus from thing to thing depending on what the last thing you were doing was. If you click on something, for example the "search" button, A little orange band appears around the button indicating that the GUI is focused on that button. The same thing happens when in dialog boxes, the most annoying of which is the BUILD window. SOmetimes the orange band indicating focus gets stuck on a check box or a text field in the Build WInbdow preventing you from using the camera to rotate around what ever it was you are building.
This is extremely annoying. The only solution is to Escape out of everything and close all windows (if you can even do that). and start over to regain control of the camera.
No need to Rez textures, lets fix the non broken GUI.

I have to agree and have reported such to LL. I have never received such heavy negative response from Elf Clan than the "features" presented in v 1.11. The "chat disappears if you enter a blank line" is a royal pain. If I want the chat box to disappear, I'll durn well TELL it to disappear, thanksverymuch. The snapshot system is a love/hate relationship, for several reasons. * It does allow higher resolution photos to be stored directly in game instead of requiring downloading to disc then uploading to game. However... * It freezes the user and visual screen in place while the rest of the world continues to move * It is cumbersome to use (ie, not intuitive like the old system). It's difficult to figure out exactly what is going on. Simply put: it's not user friendly. * The old system allowed one to view what's going on and instantly replace the snapshot if a better shot came along. Now, with the view of the world blocked, there is absolutely no way to do this. This has caused major problems for wedding and fashion show photographers, who relied on that "better shot" function to take the best photos they could. So all in all, while the new features are in some ways nice, the implementation was poor. Overall, I have to give the chat and photo "feature update" in 1.11 a big thumbs down.

Well, the update notes from today 1.11.3(1) say that they bixed a bug when highlighting text in a text field causing cursor to get stuck.
Hopefully this fixes the one issue, but Yes, I agree that most of the new features in the last couple of updates have been pretty stupid. Lets work on rezzing. The LL code monkeys need to stop EVERYTHING until the game works in its current state. Then they can add "features" that piss us off.
* Drag-selecting text in a type-in field no longer causes selected text to be stuck

LOL... I hated to chuckle at this but couldn't help it.
