Forever: A new version of second life is available

Whenever I login, I get the message "A new version of Second Life is available. You must download this update to use this system." While I'm used to seeing this message when a patch comes out, I've downloaded and installed this patch (two times now). Whenever I login, it makes me download it again.

I can't get into the grid, what's wrong here?

Never happened to me though. Try uninstalling before a reinstall, maybe that will set the things straight.

using autoupdater?, then you can see this error sometimes and keeps looping , get it from webpage instead usually works.
