Can't Log In Using French Version of Windows

My dear friend has not been able to log into SL for over six months now and only recently was he informed by SL that those running the French version of Windows cannot log into the game. SL said they are aware of the problem and are trying to fix it. They told him that even if he switched to an English version of Windows the same issue would arise due to "path" on his pc.

Anyone else heard of this or have had this problem?

SL prob cant find its files if it has special characters in document path

C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\SecondLife

I had the same problem .
Just tell him to create a new user profile without any accentuated letters (propriétaire might be default path so SL wont work with it) . Install SL on this user profile and enjoy .
