If you're having problems with Second Life (logging in issues, crashing, etc.) and need a response from a Linden, the best thing to do is email support@secondlife.com or phone us during office hours (M-F, 9a-6p Pacific) at (800) 860-6990. This way, we can work with you to diagnose and help fix your issues as quickly as possible.
The Hotline really shouldn't be used for tech problems, since we can't establish a dialog with you to figure out what's going wrong...

I've had this problem for ages. No one in the in-world help could offer me any advice. I've upgraded drivers, OS and trebbled my memory, but to no avail. Believe me, it's not my graphics card, as my face is blacked out on my wife's screen, too. Until there's a fix for this, there's no way I'm upgrading to monthly membership. On my regular machine, I'm stuck with the same outfit and shape... any attempt to change any appearance setting, or drag a garment from inventory, screws up my appearance until I've logged at least once on the other PC. Last time I tried, it took about 2 hours of logging on the other machine and checking back on mine, before I looked halfway decent again.
I am SO glad I'm not the only one.
