Non working TV & texturing

I had packed up all my stuff, sold my land and left sl some months back. I had gotten fed up with so many technical problems that plague this game with nothing being done by the devs.
I recently returned and while trying to setup my land again I saw you can't texture items like before. When I clicked on textures instead of all the textures in my inventory coming up like before it told me it couldn't find any. Only way to do is by writing the name of the texture and only then will it appear. This is a real hassle doing it like this.

I came to the forums and asked if this was the new way of texturing but was told it's broken and hasn't been fixed but nothing else was said. Since I'm just returning and don't have any info on this, what's the word on this problem? Are they planning on fixing it any time soon? (I know, wishful thinking on my part). What do they have planned for this?

Also, I can hear my radio and my jukebox which I download mp3's to hear on my land but my televisons aren't working. I deeded them, deeded the remote, deeded the movie like it's required but it won't turn on.
Now, I did see a trailer for the movie, Deja Vu with D. Washington so I know the tv works fine but other then this nothing else seems to work. Not movies and or music videos, nothing else. I sent a message to the tv's maker but haven't recieved any answers from him. I did everything like in the past but something is missing.

Any tips or advice on getting this fixed and on the texturing problems?

I'm not quite sure who or under what circumstances you were told texturing is broken, let alone I'm still texturing items, clothing, etc and whatnot the same way I've been doing it since December of 2005, right now today... Talk about set in my ways, huh?

Anyways, it's working fine as far as I can see, other than "Searching" for a texture via "Name" in the search box is sometimes buggy.... You also have a new forced sort order which does indeed kinda bug me a bit, and that's by name, and no longer sorted by date (uploaded last and this can infact be changed in debug settings).

The last thing I can think of or suggest is, if you are dealing with a new/fresh install of SL, and have not cached your inventory locally yet, you will not see any textures in the picker right away, and it may take some time to d/l all that info to your system. Fastest way to invoke that is do an inventory search for an item starting with a few characters in the search bar, and you'll start to see your inventory count climb. Let it finish, then you should have full access to all of your textures via the picker.

As far as the TV stuff goes, not sure what to suggest, I'd have to see what's going on. Hope I was of some help.

Before, when you hit texturing on an item it would open a line of all the textures you had in your inventory. From there, you could choose any texture you wanted plus you could see all of them right there in your inventory which made it easy to decide which one you wanted.
Now, when you click on textures and it opens up you don't see any texture of the ones you currently have in your inventory. The only way is by writing in the name of the texture on top in the search box then and only then will it appear.

This is either broken which I hope it is or it's a new system which in that case is a stupid, dumb way of texturing as it's very troublesome and it's a hassle as you waste a lot more time as you first have to go thru' your textures one by one to see which is the one you want to use. Even when writing in the name at times it doesn't appear.

I've asked several people since I first wrote this and they've all said texturing is broken. But none know whats going on as far as when it'll be fixed.

As far as cache, last time I did that everything got all screwed up. I turned into a newbie female and couldn't get my normal body back for almost a week so I think I'll stay away from caching.

This is exactly why I left sl the first time. This is one bugged out game but the worse part is they don't have devs capable of fixing things and fixing them correctly or they just don't care.
This technical forum is proof enough. As long as I've been playing on-line games I've never seen so many problems in a game like this one. Or problems which continue to plague a game for as long as in this one without being repaired correctly. Look at the tp and how long it's been giving players problems and the missing image problem, these are just 2 of the many, many problems which have been here for a year now and nothing has been done and done right.
But prices continue to soar, that's the only thing you can be sure of being taken care of by Linden. I'm begining to regret having returned and I've only been back a very short time.
