I have tried logging into SL and it had asked me to dowload the latest upgrade, I have done that and when it started to install a few of the files couldn't be copied. So now since I can't upgrade it, it won't let me in any other way. how can I fix this? Thanks

The upgrade is actually the normal client installer (which you can get under Downloads link here), try to install (=upgrade) again. If there are still files in use, try to log off and log back in, or rebooting the machine etc

Still same

I have tried loading it again but i still get same errors on the files. either way I go it still won't let me log in unless I upgrade it. Have even rebooted my computer and it does the same.

So you

a) downloaded the recent (1.5.13) client installer (here under Downloads)

and

b) ran the installer to upgrade the game client so that you can run SL?

and you still get error during the upgrade?

I had to finally uninstall it all and then redownload it then install it again and then it finally worked. thanks

Well, I can get in... but what I get is unusable.

I can't see myself, any objects at all, little to no land, the map is empty or hole-filled and the gesture loader fails repeatedly. The inventory will not load for me, nor will the Events or FIND lists.

Can't teleport.

It seems to me that the asset server is borked again

Interestingly, ALT-1 is totally unsable - I see all 0's except for the BASIC FPS red histogram number. Ping is showing 10000 but is totally unreliable as it does not move/change at all. (I can get to the servers with manual pings external to the SL software with no problems - and sub-100msec times.)

Already relogged, deleted old installation, reinstalled, rebooted...

Totally unsable.

I vote that updates be more thoroughly tested before release if this is going to be the result.

Didn't for the reason that I couldn't get past the connecting to region screen.... after 45 minutes I simply gave up.

What's that got to do with the current problem anyway. As I understand it, a different asset server is used... as is a completely different grid. Seems to me you're asking if I can drive a starship when what I am trying to do it ride a horse.

Uh.. no.. it's par for the course after 90% of the updates since I joined.

Go be a mole somewhere else. Moles are usually unseen and unheard. Molecules are definitely unseen and unheard. And Satyrs seem to like to sexxor themselves... try it.
