Between the random shutting down of sims without warning, (causing me to lose all of my work), random crashes due to beta quality software, (causing me to lose all of my work), random inventory bugs (causing me to lose, yes, all of my work), and now power glitches due to the storm, I've managed to spend the entire day working without actually seeing any progress.

How do you expect second life to ever get taken seriously if you guys insist on restarting sims without giving the people inside a fair chance to exit and save their work?

Please STOP randomly restarting sims without warning.

Nothing shows how absolutely bonkers SL management is when you've worked on editing a HUD for an hour and suddenly see your packet rate at 0, a short freeze, and the message that you've been logged out of second life because the sim you are in has been shut down.

How freaking incompetent does a management team have to be to have no consideration for the users when this becomes a regular occurrence? How long will Second Life continue to survive when it seems they want to drive people away from the world? You can't have a decent virtual world if the users can't expect a warning before they get logged off.

I know, you don't care. Suck it up, right? Good attitude. The users can go screw themselves I guess.

I always get a message 5 minutes before sim restarts... and each minute leading up to the restart. I never have the problems you seem to be describing. Maybe it's the sim you're in. Try working in a private sandbox or something, in a different sim, and see if that helps the situation. If it does, consider moving.

I know. But they don't really read any feedback anyway, which just shows how much they care.

Btw, phrasing my quote as blah blah blah is pointless. You don't like my post, but ridiculing me for it is just being your wonderful self. If you don't like my posts, don't read them.

That's part of the problem. Everyone accepts it, so the Lindens don't feel the need to behave differently.

They DO in fact read these forums, atleast some, and even some that matter!

They just (seemingly by policy) do not reply (Well they actually HAVE done that a couple times lately as well).

It sure seems like they added jira so they wouldn't have to read posts.

Ooh, a place to put constructive feedback about something! Oh crud. Jira. Going down the list, there doesn't seem any place to actually make suggestions.

I'm sure there IS a way, but figuring out how to use jira even to search for bugs I KNOW are in there is extremely painful. (I only managed by giving up on using the jira search and having google search it for me.)

Jira...a great way to limit one's feedback to just those who put in the extra effort and persevere for 3 days.
