Currency buy problem, unfair. still $40 limit plz help.

I am having a problem of buyin more linden even though my limit is only down to $40 for today. Tried in game (couldn't puchase currency) Tried L$ exchange on website (error ecountered) there is not a problem with my card cuz i have purchased $10 worth of linden today and the other day. It's like i try to buy more for the 2nd time and it wont allow me. And the limit review aint no help cuz all they say is im too new. For god's sake it is the 5th full day i've been on.

Please Help resolve this problem.

Your trading limits won't increase for 30 days. It's annoying but it's a provision to protect against people using stolen credit cards to buy $L.\

There's a way around it. Establish an account at the third party site, http://www.slexchange.com.

Transfer money to SLExchange via credit card or PayPal. Use that to buy $L on their exchange. Then go in-world, go to any SLExchange ATM, and transfer $L to your SL account.

I tried slexchange but still calls me a noob even tho my account was born on 8/8/07

I'm not sure about the fundamentals of the accounts and their true limitations yet; however, what's to keep somebody from creating 100 new characters and maxing their limit on each... they "paying" their main toon ingame!?

Kind of a half-ass approach to their so-called "fraud solution"... as there are so MANY ways around it. It's JUST an inconvenience to us legit players! Should be changed! If somebody got hold of a CC number, all they'd have to do is sit on it for 30 days, to begin with... THEN use it. Most people who are in the business of fraud, aren't stupid! =S

I would hope that they actually limit the use of a specific credit card to the same limit as an avatar. Spending $40 per month in the first month per avatar or per card should be the test, not just the avatar.

This wouldn't be exactly difficult. If they only do it by avatar....well, would anyone really be surprised?

There's nothing to stop it. I did it in my early days. Although you are only allowed 5 accounts, not 100.

I can't say that I've ever used Linden Labs to buy Lindens and therefore limits are not a problem when you use 3rd party resellers. Besides which Anshe Chung is often cheaper than Linden, and SL Exchange is easy to use and has the marketplace too. So go third party eh?
