Random Particle Clouds...

I've checked around the forums and the KDB, but haven't really seen anything on this problem. No one I've talked to in-game has experienced it, and they think I'm on LSD.

See, about... 2, maybe 3 months back, after one of the updates, I started seeing these clouds of Red, Blue, and sometimes Green particles rising from people and objects.

I've played SL for a while, dealed with every other issue like a man, so I wasn't going to cause a ruckus about this. I found I could just Beacons --> Hide Particles them away, along with all particles.

Well, as of the past week or so, the Beacons --> Hide Particles thing does not cure this. It seems like the Hide Particles keeps reverting back to the default of being off.

Is this a known issue? Would a complete wipe and re-install of SL fix this?

Thanks for the help, in advance.
Josh Latrell.

I've been tooling around and it seems to be caused by particle sources. For instance, when an object is 'Activated' (that is, when the swirling particles highlight it), these appear on command.

Here is a screenshot of the actual particles. Notice the blue puffs coming from the people's feet. This is just one varying degree of intensity and density. Shortly before this photo, there was a man who was completely engulfed in these.

Thanks Thili. I guess it just switched to 'On' by default when that update came. I'll try to log in myself and find the option to turn it off.

You rock :P
