I try to download the optional viewer update and I get an error after 48k has downloaded. It says that it may be due to my firewall being online.
I have tried downloading with my computer completly open with no firewall and still get the same error.
Anyone else getting this?
I've heard a few firewall issues have been going around but not sure what they are.
Or why these are happening.

I'm just going to wait till the next required viewer update since the bug appears to be in version 1.17.0(12) in that it is timing out while downloading data.

It gets to about 32K on my system and then errors.

It would be better if the client would download the program first and then launch the updater since this would mean that I would not have to let "program name x" access to the internet every time there is an update.

I had the same happen. I just downloaded the whole new viewer and did a clean install.

On the forum, someone supplied the direct link to the amazon server where you can get the download direct. If you are using IE, I also had problems, but fired up firefox and walla.. sorted.

yeah it did the same for me, firewall on or off. its on their end their router isnt routing packets correctly or the port was closed for the updater. (ftp protocol???) but just download it directly from the website that will get around the minor issue.
