I've seen people make reference to (and even post screenshots of) the various debugging and sim statistic tools available in SL.

If possible, could anyone knowledgeable in such things post a list of:

1. What to check for in a sim (FPS, active scripts, etc. etc.)
2. How to check for such things (like go to this menu, choose this option, and this is how you read the results), and
3. General recommendations to reduce lag in a sim?

I've made sure my autolight scripts aren't checking the position of the sun every second (I've bumped it to 4 seconds but thinking about going to 10), but I'm still getting hit with massive lag every time I fly into my home sim for the first time - to the point its almost at a standstill. Once things load its fine, but I'd like to find out if there's something I might have on my land that might be causing it.

Just thinking that a Sim Lag Guide for Dummies would be really useful in finding applicable data, analyzing it, and making informed decisions about the results, especially for landowners that want to ensure they cause as little drain as possible on the sim resources.

Thanks in advance!
