"Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong."

I've been getting this message for the last 2 hours, trying to log in. I updated to the latest version, checked the status website, but as far as I can tell the grid is up.. right?

Is anyone else unable to log in?

I get the same message. What is odd is that I originally got it on both (identically specced) laptops, and now I only get it on one laptop.

I've been getting the unexpected error for 5 hours now.

try adding -noprobe at the end of the secondlife.exe shortcut, should stop those errors ;)

Ok I got mine to work...I guess when I installed the update my spysweeper...(anti-spwware) program blocked the connection for second life..if you have an anti-spyware program see if maybe it blocked the host...or maybe even an internet security program...I found it when my Nortons ran a system sweep...it tried to fix it but then my anti-spyware keep it from working...so that's how I found out...hope this helps someone!....
