cant download update

ive been trying for many days to download the new update, with no success. In the past it has worked fine, but now it says:
the secondlife auto update has failed
the problem may be caused by other programs installed on your computer such as firewall.

I dont have a firewall and it has been like this for days, any suggestions?
I have rent due on my land and i probably have lost it by now because i couldnt get on

I had to download from the web site to get it work for me. Have you tried that yet.

Dina is correct. Just grab the latest version directly from the website and run it. You can install it right over the old version.. it wont create a problem for you. The updates basically just re-download the game as it stands anyway.

I had exactly the same problem twice - ruining my day when not being able to get back to SL. As said before, all my friends told me the only (and yet pretty simple) way is to download the latest SL vesion and to install it over your old version.

thanks, i did just that and it worked. unfortunately my 10km+ rental land had already been taken away, oh well. I wish i woulda thought of it sooner.
I dont even wanna look in my lost and found. ouch
