Has anyone else received an e-mail, that at first glance looks as though it's from Linden Lab, asking you to update your payment info?
Yesterday, I received such an e-mail, but I'm nervous about posting it here because of the links in it. The return path starts with "bounces-" and has no mention of an LL address.
To add to this, when I logged in to SL yesterday, there was a related message on the "blue bar" login screen, saying something about some people may have received an e-mail asking for payment info to be updated, and that the instructions should be followed.
Oh .. and the e-mail said that my account will become delinquent within seven days if I don't update my payment info, and I would forfeit all my land and L$.
If it looks like a skunk, walks like a skunk, and smells like a skunk .......... and I think this one really really REEKS of skunk.

I would be very skeptical too; its good practice.
Call the billing dept and see what updating your account really needs.

Well, I haven't been able to find ANY phone numbers, let alone a 1-800 number to call Billing.
Mandy, could you link me to the other 2 threads please? I looked back a couple of pages but didn't see any mention of this, so I'm guessing I didn't look back far enough.
