Running SL for the first time and download problem

Yesterday I joined second life and downloaded the game. In the first run I found the game very very slow (slow motion) and it keep downloading for a long time.

My computer is connected with ADSL (256 K) to the internet and it is as fast as I can play World Of Warcraft without any problem: 3.2 P4 CPU and 64 MB graphic card.

I found running SL makes whole the system very slow and I guess because it tries to download a lot of files and the problem is after 3 hours and downloading 200 MB, still not finished.

Please let me know how much does SL download in the first time?

Is there any document in the website which helps to increase its performance?

How much bandwidth should I have as an optimum connection for playing SL?

First thing i can tell you is that 64mb ram graphic card is way to slow for sl. Now i may be missing somthing i dont know. If so please forgive me for opeaning my mouth lol. I have a 256mb ram grafic card with sepron 2.00ghz processer 1 gig of ram and i wish i had better lol Good luck Welcome to sl
