Hi there,

I have noticed that since the last update, every time i try to open the script editing window, i get a crash. Automatic, fail-safe, without incident, _every time_ !!

This is particularly troublesome since i pride myself and my career as a programmer.

Has anyone heard of this problem, or experienced it since the last update??

Are there work-arounds that i can use until this is "fixed"?

Thanks, I'm really hurting without being able to work on my projects :*(

PS--this *never* happened before the last update.

problem solved

so, um, thanks for...your...lack of responses, but the 8 people that looked at the thread. i know you tried

turns out the newest update corrupted the font file c:\program files\secondlife\fonts\profontwi

this is the plaintext, fixed width font that the script editor uses. i fixed the problem by uninstalling secondlife, and reinstalling to a different directory. the reason a different directory was needed was because i cannot (for the life of me) delete the corrupted font file.

others have suggested running windows checkdisk utility to correct the improper filesystem entry...but as many of you probably know, this utility tends to screw up more than it fixes.

oh well, i guess i'll have to live with secondlife being installed to c:\program files\second life\ instead.

I used the auto-updater before i had this problem. From now on I will download the installer directly from the web page.

Seems like too much of a coin-flip with the auto-dealie.
