Latest update links too far apart problem

Hi.

I had a structure which was 20x20x10m, this was able to be linked as one unit until the most recent (5th April) update.

Now I can link the 4 ceiling tiles, and the 4 floor, and link these together. But when I link the sides (8 more prims) it fails saying links too far apart.


Now I know this was working yesterday.


Question for Lindens :- is this a bug or a planned change ? If it was planned isn't it a bit dangerous to reduce linking distance/ qualifications... ?

If anything I don't see why linking distances are limited at all. I'd very much like to link all of my 30x30x50m tree/club so when I move it around parts don't randomly shift out of place, and to ensure I can grab all the parts in one click->Take action.

I haven't noticed this problem myself though. Aside from my above complaint the linking distances seem fine.
