What graphics setting to turn up/down?

I finally got a nice video card (Geforce 6800 256MB), but when I turned up every setting as high as it would go, it managed to slow it down pretty good. Since I can't turn them all up, which ones should I turn down?

I can't even find anywhere that describes what each of the settings does, to know what the effect would be of turning it on/up or off/down.

Thanks in advance!

Here's what I recommend:

Graphics
Anistropic Filtering = Off
Local Lighting = On
Shadows = Off
Disable Far Clip = On
Shiny Objects = On (this one's a must)
Avatar Rendering = Bump Mapped & Cloth
Terrain Detail = Full

Advanced Graphics
AGP Graphics Accelleration
Texture Cache Size = Large
Video Card Memory = 256MB
Object Detail = Max
Tree Detail = Max
Avatar Detail = Max
Avatar Vertex Program = On
Draw Distance = 128
Fog Distance Ratio = 4.0
Drop Draw Distance if FPS <5 (or whatever you personally find an acceptable minimum)
Bumpiness Draw Distance = 30
Max Particle Count = 4096
Outfit composit limit = 5

Start with that, and if it's still too slow, turn off local lighting. If it's still tooo slow after that, drop the draw distance a bit. Have fun. :)
