Sorry, but the almost-daily message to the effect of "There is a new version of SL that you must download to be able to continue using the system", followed by an almost-daily 25MB download is really starting to get on my nerves. I've never really had issues with crashes in SL, except for a few times that are probably to do with my decrepit old excuse for a computer. Some of us have monthly capped ADSL connections to the tune of 1GB per month ...

Just like BT to cap it though. On the bright side, we usually find that updates come in batches of 3 or 4 then settle down for a couple of months. With a bit of luck, 1.5.10 will be stable, and there'll be no more until 1.6.

The crashes are to do with my computer (PC World own brand) which crashes all the time on pretty much everything! Given a choice, I'd go over to Plusnet ADSL, but I don't pay - my work does!

AH... PC World... the single most expensive place in the UK to buy a PC...
Is it insured? Are your carpets slippery? Do you need to move it up and down stairs occasionally?

The PC is works' too, and I don't think dropping it downstairs will get me into their good books! Besides, it's so full of my rubbish that a new PC just wouldn't feel... right. It's like having an untidy room and then moving house, your new room is just wrong. Do you really live by Stonehenge?

I built Stonehenge in SL, and live there. In RL I live about 40 miles away.

I'm a Londoner who lives in Crewe, in Cheshire. The only way you can possibly end up living here is by missing your connection on the train. Five months and counting until I return to civilisation.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with technical issues, but it's the Lindens' fault for inexplicably omitting the Private Message feature from vBulletin. Oh well.
I had to drive through Gloucestershire once. A most bizarre experience it was for someone who, at the time, had hardly left the London bright lights. One does get used to the countryside after a while, but I can't wait to be back amongst my friends again. I've had trouble fitting in here in Cheshire.

Er, they didn't. It is there, and it works. Oh, by the way, I sent you an invite to the "Brits in SL" group

I've found it. For some reason, it was turned off by default.
