Camera control hotkeys causing severe problems

Can anyone help me with this one? I just bought a new Toshiba M5 with a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 100M graphics card.

Now, when I use hotkeys to use my camera controls, the screen goes blank, SL reappears upside down, until I let go of the keys. At that point, it goes blank again and corrects itself.

I have already checked to ensure that I have the latest NVIDIA drivers.

Has anyone experienced this, and solved the problem?

I did try using the Fn key to see if the alt and cntl keys were somehow performing other functions. This did not work.
