My friend just made a group and when he invited me and someone else, it says "can not join, you are a trial member". I am sooooo not a trial member. What should we do??

Send a bug report. Wait a few days or so for them to get back to you, if that brings no joy (usually you get an email or some kind of message back - but id can take a few days) do a find on 'linden' and look for one thats online with 'liason' in groups and pass the problem to them.
Most importantly (from my own experience) always be consise, and civil in your correspondance...
